  • Inception of the departrnent was in 1962.
  • Dr N M Tiwari was honoured as our first HOD.
  • He served as HOD from 1967 to 1974.
  • PG course started in the year 1972.
  • In 2009, PG course got MCI recognition.
  • In 2010, MCI recognized PhD course started.

Pharmacovigilance centre designated by Indian Pharmacopoeia Commission(IPC) & National Coordinating Centre (NCC) under Pharmacovigilance Programme of India(PvPI).

Performance last three years
  • Conducted three MUHS approved & MMC accreditated ‘Basic Workshop in Research Methodology’ for residents and teachers in the year 2014.
  • Carried out two research projects-
    • Estimation of Serum Leptin levels and its correlation with various indices of Polycystic Ovary Syndrome and effect of Metformin on Leptin levels in Polycystic Ovary Syndrome patients.
    • A Retrospective study of use of polyvalent anti-snake venom in tertiary care setting.
